Hampton Public School is the winner of the $2,000 promotion associated with the launch of savewater!®‘s online educational resources. The money will significantly help fund improvements to the small school of two teachers and twenty-six students.

The educational resources are still available so it’s not too late for  teachers to get their students involved and go into the draw for a chance to win $2,000 for your school. Please see Educational Resources for more information.

Environmental Sustainability is core

Environmental Sustainability is a core aspect within the curriculum at Hampton Public School, demonstrated through encouraging and teaching students to learn and care for the environment as part of their everyday lives.

When Hampton Public principal, Isabel Fox , requested a copy of the teacher’s guide for the Water Savers educational unit of work, she didn’t imagine it would result in $2,000 for her school.

“I wanted information to encourage my students to learn about environmental sustainability, and didn’t realise there was a prize available.” says Ms Fox. Isabel believes that sustainability is an important issue and savewater!®‘s educational resources are a fantastic way to encourage students to take care of the environment.

“This educational program helps make learning fun with a number of worksheets based around the online educational game Mission H20, and assists teaching our students about saving water in and around the home,” says Ms Fox.

“The Council’s partnership with savewater!® has allowed an enormous amount of up to date, interesting and practical information to be brought to the fingertips of all residents in the Lithgow Local Government Area.” says Mr Castle.
